In preparation of a upcoming, long work week, I always try my best to relax on a Sunday. Most of the time this relaxation includes a great brunch! Opting to try something off my beaten brunch path, I quickly checked my list of "need to try," newer, brunch places and landed on Stirr Dallas. Opening earlier this Fall and located smack in the heart of Deep Ellum, Stirr prides itself in being an approachable neighborhood eatery, perfect for every type of function! With a mix of decor, from pieces with an industrial feel to posh cushioned dining chairs, the ambiance gives you a upscale, eclectic feel.

A must have, in my opinion, for a great brunch, is great drink deals and Stirr does not disappoint. I obviously opted for the $15 pitcher of mimosas, as some champagne with a hint of OJ is the way to my heart. With a drink list of amazingly concocted beverages, I will have to return to try their Bee's Knees, a gin drink with honey and lemon juice, or the Girl From Dallas, a lillet blanc with strawberry puree ice cubes. As it was brunch though, I had to stick with a classic brunch drink; the mimosa.

When it came to food, I was in heaven. While ordering mimosas, we decided to get an order of the Sweet Slab Bacon. This appetizer was the most fantastic thing I've ever consumed..... Tender, thick cut slices of bacon drizzled with maple bourbon brown sugar glaze..... what more could you ask for?! For the main course, I opted for a burger, the Cow + Pig to be exact. This ground brisket and bacon burger, topped with housemade pickles and crispy tobacco onion and cheddar cheese was just what I needed! My mom chose the Southwest Beni, a spicy take on the eggs benedict. An english muffin, topped with green tomatoes, a crab cake, poached egg and then doused with chipotle hollandaise, was accompanied by the most amazing rustic potato hash!

After a delicious brunch, I obviously cannot wait to go and try their happy hour menu, specifically the Poblano Pepper Mac and the Tempura Fried Cactus! Mon-Fri 3-7pm! Great cocktail and app prices!

Make sure to add this to your MUST TRY list!
